On this Wednesday, June 3rd, our faculty will be lined up in the main parking lot to send off our eighth-grade students in a drive-through parade during student property pick up times!
Students with last names A-L 8:30-11:00
Students with last names M-Z 12:30-3:00
We encourage our families to decorate their cars to show their support of their teachers and our school! Students will receive a yard sign that day and a certificate for a Chick-fil-a 8-count nugget or sandwich plus a digital offer card. These have been emailed to you from Ms. Case and must be used the same day as the parade. If you did not receive an email by May 30th, please email Ms. Case at firstname.lastname@example.org. Lastly, we are putting together a short “virtual moving-on” video that will be sent out to families the week of June 8th as a final celebration of our 2020 eighth grade class!

We are coming to the final stretch of required learning for HS credit classes. If your child is behind the expected pace of the assigned coursework as of Monday, June 1st, you will be receiving notification through school messenger early this week.
The due date for this required learning is June 9th. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for your child to receive a high school credit on their transcript prior to entering high school. Please check your child’s Schoology account to make sure they are on track to complete the modules and earn the credit.
We have received an estimated arrival date of late July/early August for our yearbooks to be distributed to QMS. There is still time to purchase a yearbook for $25.00 each. Yearbooks will be sold on a first come first serve basis.
If you do not have the capability to purchase a yearbook online, but would like to purchase one for your students please complete the inquiry form by clicking here.
Please visit the QMS Yearbook FAQ’s page for more information.
Please click on the link below for directions on how to check Course Requests for next school year. Please do so as soon as possible because we would like to have made all corrections by Friday, June 12.
|Good evening, Griffin families!
On Monday, June 1st, we will begin our student closeout process. This is a drive-through process that will take place on the bus ramp. Each grade level has been assigned a designated day and time slot based on the first letter of your child’s last name (see schedule below). On your assigned day of pick-up, it would be helpful to our team if you would place a piece of paper in your front windshield with your student(s) first and last name in large print and their 5th block teacher. This will allow us to efficiently gather more belongings at the same time.
During this process, you will be greeted by a staff member upon entering the bus ramp. Next, you will be directed by staff to a pickup location. A staff member will place your student’s items in your trunk (i.e. any items found in hallway and PE lockers, band/strings instruments, artwork, etc.) and retrieve items from your trunk, such as library books, textbooks, school locks, English classroom library books, athletic uniforms, school band instruments, sheet music, etc. We will not be collecting student laptops or chargers at this time. If your child has a school lock, please make sure it is labeled with the combination.
We have created a short VIDEO to help you visualize the process. We can’t wait to see our Griffin families!

Did you know that May is Mental Health Awareness Month? This month is dedicated to helping raise awareness about mental health issues, to promote good mental health practices, and encourage people to support others around them.
This week, May 11th – May 15th, the school counseling department is holding its Virtual Mental Health Spirit Week. QMS students and staff are invited to participate in fun activities while also helping them to recognize the impact of healthy lifestyle practices and good self-care. Daily-themed Padlets are designed for students to post pictures and videos to help them feel better, but also to see how and what others in the QMS family are doing. The themes are as follow:
- MISS YOU! Monday: Students will send a picture of themselves holding a sign that shows how much they miss their friends and teachers.
- Show Us Your Talent Tuesday: Students send a picture of themselves playing an instrument, singing, playing sports, dancing, or display any other talent they possess.
- Griffin Wednesday: Students will show their school pride by rockin’ their BLUE and GOLD!
- Thoughtful Thursday: Let us know what you did to make someone’s day better
- Friend Friday: Share a picture from your phone of you and a friend that you miss.
Bonus – Mental Health Awareness Month: Take a picture of yourself wearing GREEN, the color of this Awareness Month.
- In addition to these activities, there are numerous resources for students to review in the newly launched “Counselor’s Corner” in Schoology. Thank you for participating and showing your support in recognition of the benefits of overall mental health and wellness.
